Assembling wire harnesses.
Efficient cabling with Augmented Reality
- Projection of 1:1 CAD/CAM drawings
- Step-by-step instructions with projected AR
- Elimination of errors with 3D sensor validation
- Support of multiple variants
Efficient cabling solutions
Assembling wire harnesses can be very complex, as multiple wires need to be routed, connectors need to be correctly placed and the right labels and/or tape have to be applied. All this combined with multiple variants makes the production of wire harnesses one of the most challenging processes in the industry.
In order to bypass these challenges, the Arkite’s Operator Guidance platform projects 1:1 CAD/CAM drawings on a board, while using data from the drawings to provide step-by-step instructions. By following these projected steps on the board, it is easy to route the cables and it is impossible for the operator to forget connectors, labels and/or tapes, even as different variants need to be worked. To eliminate every error risk, Arkite’s integrated 3D sensor also validates the correct execution of the instructions and warns the operator if required.
Guiding I/O module assembly at Petersime
- Step-by-step digital work instructions through projected AR
- Supporting multiple product variants
- Reducing picking and assembly errors
- Training and supporting new operators
Petersime was looking for a solution to support the operator during the assembly of an I/O module. The solution provides highly precise augmented reality projections on the workbench. The systems make it easier for new operators to perform complex tasks with a high variability. Arkite’s increases customer quality by reducing picking and assembly errors. An additional benefit for Petersime is our platform’s capability to train new operators.
